Project SAVA NAVIGO is implemented by the Centre for Environmentally Sustainable Development ( CESD) from Bosnia and Herzegovina in cooperation with the Centre for the Development of Inland Navigation ( CRUP) from Croatia under the IPA programme of crossborder cooperation between Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina 2007 - 2013. The project is implemented in 2011.
The overall objective of the project is to support revitalization of cross-border economy by stimulating tourism development in Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Specific objectives of the project were ti create foundations for nautical tourism development on the Sava River by increasing of safe navigation and simplification of cross-border procedures, as well as to create and promote the regional identity and tourist offer of the Posavina region.
The project covered Sisacko-Moslavacka County and Brodsko-Posavska County in Croatia and municipalities Kostajnica, Kozarska Dubica, Novi Grad, Brod, Gradiška, Srbac, Derventa and Odzak in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The results of this project were development of tourist- nautical charts and atlas for the provision of safe navigation on the Sava River, developmen of Study on cross-border procedures for tourist vessels that gave recommendations for simplification of cross-border procedures for tourist vessels, and creation of regional identity of Posavina and promotion of tourism offer and products of Posavina region through preparation of Study on tourist offer in Posavina region, slogan, tourist maps, CDs and other promotional materials.
In 2013-2014 the continuation of this project is approved and implemented under the title DISCOVER POSAVINA.
